Calan Gaeaf: Welsh Halloween Customs

Cennad y meirw: Embassy of the dead: Wealthy members of the community put together lavish feasts. The poor take on the identity of the dead, and go from door asking for food in the name of the ancestors. At each house they are given food that has been set aside for the dead. To refuse food to the cenhadon is an act of impiety and invites retaliation in the form of destruction of property. (15)
