Llyfr Coch Hergest: The Red Book of Hergest

Jesus College Oxford: Bodleian Library MS 111: Written on vellum with red leather binding by Hywel Fychan fab Hywel Goch of Fuellt between 1375-1425 for Hopcyn ap Tomas ap Einion of Ynys Tawe. Sir Thomas Vaughan of Hergest Court, near Kington in the Welsh Marches, Breconshire, received it when Hopcyn forfeited his property to King Edward IV. Presented in 1701 to Jesus College, Oxford, by Reverend Thomas Wilkins the Younger, of Llanbleithain, Glamorgan, Wales. Compiled in 1851 for the house of Hergest, Herfordshire. 362 folios. Contains The Mabinogion, Cynfeirdd Bards, & The Four Ancient Books of Wales. According to Mary Jones, in 2007, all prose texts from the manuscript were put online by the Rhyddiaith Gymraeg 1350–1425: Welsh Prose Project by the University of Wales.
