(pron. NACHT-an, NYOCHT an) Celtic goddess of the Morini tribe of the Netherlands. Goddess of seafarers. Devotees prayed for safe passage and success in business transactions. She is portrayed as a youthful woman with a short shoulder-cape and round cap. She is on a shell throne with a fruit basket with a hound at her side and cornucopiae and trees at the sides of the altars. She is also seen with ships and dolphins. Mother of three gods: Foill, Fannell, and Tuachell. Their heads were cut off by Cú Chúlainn (58, 59)
